About
Why I share my songs
I grew up on the East Coast and I live in Calgary. I've been writing songs since 1985. For most of that time, the songs were only for me. They were how I worked through things, my own therapy. In 2023, I started doing deeper work on myself: psychotherapy, plant medicine, spiritual practice. Somewhere in there it became clear the songs shouldn't stay in a drawer. If they helped me heal, they might help someone else. That's why I started releasing them as francis. and under my band, Turiya. I also founded Turiya Spirit Music, and I put on nights of live music around Calgary.
I sing and play guitar, founded Turiya Spirit Music, and play live whenever I get a chance.
